The coach behind the name
Joey O'Brien didn't arrive at coaching through the easy road. Four knee surgeries — the first at age 12 — could have ended the story before it started. Instead, they became the foundation of a coaching philosophy built on resilience, adaptation, and the science of the human body.
A NIRCA All-American in discus (5th place, 2014), 10+ years competing in CrossFit, a 70.3 Ironman and full marathon finisher, and a 2nd-place finish at the Illinois State Weightlifting meet — Joey has pushed his body across every discipline so his clients don't have to figure it out alone.
With a B.S. in Molecular & Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois, he brings lab-level understanding of the body to every program he writes. Built by O'B isn't a template — it's a system built around your biology, your schedule, and the life you're trying to build.
